Le Paradis

Situated three kilometres down a mountain track from the traditional 'pueblo blanco' of El Gastor, this secluded retreat is perfect for those in search of authenticity and particularly lovely for couples, each house is decorated to reflect the region's rich cultural heritage, with interiors filled with Arab rugs and artefacts, and walls adorned with Moorish ceramics and materials.

A Moorish-style archway separates the bedroom from the brightly decorated living area, which has central heating for cooler evenings in early or late season and air-conditioning for the hotter months. The kitchen is open plan and includes a cooker and a fridge, and naturally there is also a bathroom in each cottage.

With our request, close attention has been paid to creating a private sunning area for each house, whilst still preserving the views and charm of this well-thought out oasis. Olive and the carob trees provide welcome shade in the heat of the day whilst the central pavilion makes an ideal setting for a meal in the cool of the evening.

El Gastor has a couple of simple eateries and shops for essentials, but for a wider range, you can visit Olvera (only 20 kilometres away) or head a little further to the town of Ronda. For a peaceful holiday in truly unspoilt surroundings, Le Paradis is an inspired choice.
